After establishing state-of-the-art cyber range at the Military Institute of Science and Technology-MIST, efforts are being made to create an ethical hacker group. This group will work with the Computer Incident Response Team. In order to keep the country's cyberspace completely safe, 37 critical information infrastructures will be equipped with the latest technology, as well as setting up world-class forensic labs and security operation centers. At the same time, the ICT Division will coordinate with everyone in the development of the cyber security industry in the country in future.

The ICT State Minister conveyed this information by joining the seminar on ‘Smart Bangladesh and cyber security’ held at Bijoy Sarani in the capital on Tuesday (November 7, 2023). While speaking as the chief guest, he announced that every citizen will get a fair share of the state in the honest use of technology in Smart Bangladesh.

Pointing out that 'intelligent and innovative problem solvers are smart citizens even without being much educated', the state minister further said that, in the future, after connecting government services to the Internet, automated government will be built using AI. Besides creating awareness among citizens, training in cyber security and use of automated technology.

Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh coordinator Habibullah N Karim presented the keynote at the seminar chaired and conducted by iDEA Foundation Vice Chairman Abul Kalam Azad.

Secretary of ICT Division Md. Shamsul Arefin, Director General of Digital Security Agency Abu Saeed Md. Kamruzzaman, Head of Computer Science and Engineering Faculty of BUET Professor Mahmuda Nazneen and FBCCI Panel Advisor Syed Sadat Almas Kabir spoke among others in the seminar.

Muhammad Shahidul Haque, Executive Member of iDEA Foundation gave welcome speech and BIDA Executive Chairman, Kazi Md. Aminul Islam delivered closing speech. Hoplon Limited Chairman Syed Ahsan Habib thanked the participants.

Almost all the speakers emphasized on creating awareness in cyber security in their discussion. Among them, Syed Almas Kabir highlighted the do's and don'ts of a citizen to maintain cyber security. Abu Saeed Md. Kamruzzaman discussed cyber security compliance and laws. And Prof. Mahmuda Nazneen highlighted her initiative to create cyber security graduates.
